Headlight Cover Update Tuesday, September 6, 2005

We've solved the mystery of fitting headlight covers to 1970-1978 Z cars. It seems Datsun (Nissan) used either multiple suppliers or tooling for the passenger-side headlight surrounds for the early Zs. We verified this by locating and measuring a large sampling of genuine factory body pieces. A small percentage of 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z will require a right -side headlight cover of slightly different dimensions. Only Motorsport has these special parts in stock. It's an example of the extra effort we take to ensure your satisfaction.

Suppliers and Inventory Thursday, July 28, 2005

The part you want should be in stock when you want it. That’s our philosophy as we plan our inventory purchases for the year. Ninety-nine percent of the time, we meet this standard. But what’s important is how we respond when the mark is missed.

Two years ago, we experienced a shortage of performance cams for the L-series engine. Our cam grinder simply could not get the premium cam billets we specify for our various offerings. We took action, purchasing our own inventory of these high-quality billets. This ensured our customers an abundant supply of performance cams for many years to come.

Lately, a few of you have seen delays in receiving 4-row radiators. We had placed purchase orders far in advance of the hot weather. Unfortunately, the only manufacturer of 4-row tanks decided this spring to move their plant, disputing their production schedule. We are now receiving product, and all backorders should be filled soon. Meanwhile, we will pursue a new supplier of tanks, eliminating this bottleneck for future orders.

We will always work hard to make sure we have what you need when you need it.

Recently, a few of our clients experienced problems with our telephone system. We found an operational glitch in the switch software, which has been repaired. Please let us know if you have any problems getting through to us.
